So this is my first ever attempt at writing any sort of blog. I am taking 6 months off work (paternity leave)πΌπΌπΌ to look after my 7 month old darling daughter (DD) ZaraπΆπΎ ( I learnt the DD thing from other parent websites so will probably use that a lot here π ) I believe that the term Pappa Latte is used for dads in similar positions lol. I will be taking over the reins from my wife Seetal and sure the next 6 months will only make me appreciate more the level of work that most mothers are responsible for with children.
I also have a 3 and half year old Darling son (DS)π¦πΎ Reuben who is at nursery but I will be looking after him as well on a Friday when he is at home.
This is my first post so will keep it brief. Having spoken to many people the idea of blog sounded really good and I wanted to write as a good way of documenting my time off as I have realised how quickly and easy it is to forget all the great experiences with a baby and wish I had written more down when Reuben was little. The blog may also prove to be useful to other dads who may be contemplating taking some time off to look after their children.
The only problem is that I’m not a big writer and can often be lazy when it comes to things like this so hopefully this won’t be my first and last blog.π thanks to family and friends for their encouragement to do this. I will try and use the time that I spend in the evenings on Facebook instead writing a summary of the day or maybe week. Let’s see hey.
Today Monday 8th June has been a smooth day with no dramas to report. I had a fun session at Hartbeeps, a cool baby class which Zara seems to love. I’m the only dad at the session and all the mothers seem to be welcoming – they are all first time parents and as a parent with an older sibling have been already asked my view on a number of things from Chicken pox vaccine to weaning which is encouraging. Zara and Reuben both in bed now so good. Hopefully I will have more interesting things to report on my next blog.
I like your blog
We should meet up
I’m also a dad but I work so maybe we can meet at the weekends
